Free and Pro Plans
Section titled “Free and Pro Plans”Now Playing offers a free tier that covers the core experience, and a Pro subscription for DJs and streamers who want more flexibility, more customization, and access to the full feature set. Both plans require a free account at nowplayingapp.com.
There is no trial period required. You can start using Now Playing for free right away and upgrade whenever you’re ready.
Free Tier
Section titled “Free Tier”The free plan includes everything you need to get started with live track display:

The free tier is ideal for hobbyists who stream occasionally and want a simple, reliable way to show their viewers what’s playing, without any ongoing cost.
Pro Subscription
Section titled “Pro Subscription”Pro unlocks the full feature set for working DJs and serious streamers who need more flexibility:

What Pro Unlocks in Detail
Section titled “What Pro Unlocks in Detail”Customizable themes. Adjust colors, typography, and other theme settings to match your brand. Pro also lets you upload your own custom themes.
Additional destinations. Beyond overlays, Pro lets you broadcast track data to additional services simultaneously:
- Discord. Posts track updates to a Discord channel via webhook
- Custom webhooks. Sends track data as JSON to any URL, enabling integrations with home automation or custom displays
- LumiaStream. Triggers lighting effects when tracks change
- MIDI Output. Sends MIDI data to other apps
- OSC Output. Sends OSC messages to compatible software
Upload your own album artwork. Replace or supplement the artwork pulled from metadata with your own images.
Advanced tracklist exporting. Export your full set history in additional formats for sharing or archiving.
Customizable On-Air Detection. Fine-tune the thresholds and rules that determine when a track is considered on-air.
Priority support. Pro subscribers receive faster response times from the support team and access to direct support channels.
Subscribing to Pro
Section titled “Subscribing to Pro”You can subscribe to Pro directly from the dashboard:
- Sign in at app.nowplayingapp.com.
- Open Settings from the left sidebar.
- Navigate to the Subscription tab.
- Review the plan options and select Monthly or Yearly.
- Click Subscribe with PayPal.
- You will be taken to PayPal to complete your payment.
- You are returned to the dashboard and Pro features activate immediately.
Billing is handled securely through PayPal. Now Playing does not store your payment details. All payment information is managed directly by PayPal.
Billing Cycle
Section titled “Billing Cycle”Pro subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual billing cycle. The annual plan saves 20% compared to paying monthly.

You will receive a receipt from PayPal for every charge.
If a payment fails (for example, if your PayPal account has insufficient funds), you will receive a notification so you can resolve the issue before service is interrupted.
Cancelling Your Subscription
Section titled “Cancelling Your Subscription”You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time with no cancellation fees or lock-in periods.
- Open Settings in the left sidebar of the dashboard.
- Click Subscription.
- Click Cancel Subscription.
- A confirmation dialog will appear explaining what will happen after cancellation.
- Confirm by clicking Cancel Subscription in the dialog.
What Happens After Cancellation
Section titled “What Happens After Cancellation”Your Pro features remain fully active until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
When the billing period ends, your account automatically reverts to the free tier. Here is what happens to your data:

Reactivating After Cancellation
Section titled “Reactivating After Cancellation”If you cancelled and want to resubscribe:
- Open Settings in the dashboard and go to Subscription.
- Click Subscribe with PayPal.
- Complete the PayPal checkout.
- All Pro features and your previous configurations are restored immediately.
Data Retention
Section titled “Data Retention”Your account data, including overlay configurations and settings, is retained regardless of subscription status. Cancelling Pro does not delete your data. If your account is permanently closed (deleted by you), data is removed according to the privacy policy.
Free tier accounts with no login activity for an extended period may be subject to data pruning in accordance with the terms of service. Active accounts are never affected.
Getting Help with Billing
Section titled “Getting Help with Billing”For billing questions, charge disputes, or help changing your plan, use the support contact form in the Help section of the dashboard. Pro subscribers receive priority response times. Include your account email and a brief description of the issue when reaching out.
